OneFilm is built to be private by default. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.

We don't collect personal data

OneFilm does not require an account, a sign-in, or any personal details to work. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or location; we use no advertising identifier (IDFA); and we do not sell or share data with third parties. (Our anonymous analytics may use a non-tracking device identifier — see below.)

Your data stays on your device

The films you save to your Library and your in-app preferences (such as your daily-pick history) are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to us. Deleting the app removes this data.

Crash reports and anonymous analytics

To keep OneFilm stable and decide what to improve, the app uses two privacy-preserving services. Neither is tied to your identity, and there is no advertising identifier (IDFA) and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.

• Crash & error reporting (Sentry). If the app crashes or hits an error, a diagnostic report — the error, plus your device model, operating-system version and app version — is sent so we can fix it.
• Anonymous usage analytics (TelemetryDeck). The app sends anonymous, aggregated signals about which screens and features are used. There is no account, no personal profile, and no advertising identifier. Analytics may use a non-tracking, anonymized device identifier — never linked to your identity and never used to track you across apps or websites.

No ads

OneFilm contains no advertising and no advertising SDKs.

Movie data

To recommend films, the app requests movie information (titles, posters, overviews, and streaming availability) through our own backend service, which fetches it from The Movie Database (TMDb). These requests carry only the filter criteria needed to find a film (for example, genre and runtime) and your approximate region for streaming availability — never any personal information. This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.

The one-line "why this film fits"

To generate the short sentence shown with each recommendation, the app sends non-personal details about the suggested film (its title, year, genres, rating, and a short overview) together with your chosen mood, company, and time budget to our backend service, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude API. No account, name, contact, device identifier, or other personal information is included, and this data is used only to write that one sentence. If the service is unavailable, the app falls back to an on-device, offline version.

Children

OneFilm does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this URL.
